Is drone deer recovery legal in Ohio?
Ohio Administrative Code 1501:31-15-02 allows aerial drones to aid recovery after the taking has occurred, with specific conditions. KRYX checks current requirements before each mission.
Can the drone be used to scout before a hunt?
No. KRYX recovery services are for lawful after-the-shot recovery—not pre-hunt scouting, locating huntable deer, or directing a hunter to live game.
What happens if the deer is still alive?
Drone use is discontinued before hunting resumes. KRYX may provide the location where the deer was last observed, consistent with the current Ohio rule.
How soon should I call?
